Answers to common questions about ATO, and how to reach us.
Do I need to buy Pro again on a new iPhone?
No. Pro is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple Account. On the new device, open Settings in ATO and tap Restore Purchases.
How do I move my data to a new iPhone?
On the old iPhone, go to Settings → iCloud backup → Back up now. Install ATO on the new iPhone, sign in to iCloud with the same Apple Account, then tap Settings → Restore from iCloud. If you set up the new iPhone with Quick Start or from an iCloud device backup, ATO's data comes along automatically.
Will restoring from iCloud erase what's on my phone?
No. A restore only adds events and milestones that exist in the backup but not on the device. Everything already on your iPhone stays.
Are the photos on my milestones backed up?
The iCloud backup holds events, milestones, logs, notes and settings, but not the photo files themselves. To bring photos along, use Quick Start or an iCloud device backup when moving to a new iPhone.
My widget isn't updating.
iOS decides when widgets refresh, so they can lag by a few minutes. Opening ATO writes the latest numbers right away. If it still doesn't change, long-press the widget, remove it and add it again. Low Power Mode slows widget updates.
The count doesn't appear on my Lock Screen (Live Activity).
Turn on Show on Lock Screen in the event's detail view (Pro). If nothing appears, check that Live Activities are allowed in iPhone Settings → ATO. iOS ends Live Activities automatically after a while; turn it on again when that happens. The day count refreshes when you open ATO.
I'm not getting notifications.
ATO only notifies you about major milestones such as 100 days, 1 year and 1,000 days, so there are no daily alerts. If they still don't arrive, check iPhone Settings → Notifications → ATO, and make sure notifications are on in the event's edit screen.
When I import birthdays, are my contacts sent anywhere?
No. The import (Pro) runs entirely on your iPhone and creates events from the names and birthdays of the people you pick. ATO asks for Contacts access only when you start an import.
What happens to my data if I delete the app?
All data on the device is deleted, and none of it exists anywhere on our side. If you made an iCloud backup, reinstall ATO and use Settings → Restore from iCloud.
Face ID won't unlock the app.
When Face ID isn't available, you can unlock ATO with your iPhone passcode.
Restoring purchases
Sign in with the Apple Account you used to buy ATO Pro, then open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases. Family Sharing is not supported.
